More Pencil Drawings
Sorry I have not updated this site recently but I have been doing some drawings but slowly as my right hand has been aching due to the warmer weather that we are experiencing in the UK and we are not used to it. Having MS does make my muscles ache too, so its a combination of both issues.
I drew this lions face copied from google images as a card for my husbands birthday.
My friend Mimi requested this drawing of angels. So I tried to capture an angel holding her as a small child as she lost her mother when she was young. Jesus also had angels comforting him as his time drew near to go to the cross.
Framed by my bedroom wall's extremely old 1970's wallpaper this image was sent to me via an email. I loved it so much I decided to draw if for myself. We have so much diy to do in our house that I promise that wallpaper will go eventually!
I have Art Academy on my DSi XL and I drew these on paper after drawing them on the screen. The left pear is drawn with my left hand and the right pear is drawn with my right hand. With MS my hands ache but to not be able to draw with either is not an option that I want. So I decided to draw with both hands. I am right handed and you can see that as the right pear is naturally larger!
Toby the labrador and Jasper a jack russel cross. Sorry the image is a bit faint but at the time it was the best I could photograph. Drawn as a card. I now have a third dog too but I have not drawn him yet.

A Birds Eye View
Taken from a friends photo, but I am not sure which town it is...
I loved the view from above in the photo that Jonathan took when he was on his holiday.

Psalm 23
Painted for a friend, I tried to show Jesus is with us in the trails of life, hence he stands in the shadows but through his presence we can once again find rest for our souls. Jesus' shadow is a part of the tree, he left his mark on earth by dying on the cross, also called a tree and where his blood touches life is birthed as we are forgiven our sins and given a new start; a new life.
The boy is flying a kite on a summers day, without a care in the world - freedom from his burdens as Jesus' presence is with him in both the darkness and the light.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd
I have everything I need.
He lets me rest in fields of green grass
and leads me to quiet pools of fresh water.
He gives me new strength.
He guides me in the right paths
as he has promised.
Even if I go through the deepest darkness
I will not be afraid
for you are with me.
Your shepherd's rod and staff protect me.
You prepare a banquet for me
where all my enemies can see me,
you welcome me as an honoured guest
and fill my cup to the brim.
I know that your goodness and love
will be with me all my life,
and your house will be my home
as long as I live.

Lilies
These lilies were given to me as a present by a friend back in 2006. On impulse I drew them, to remember her kindness.
Pencil Sketches
Copied from a learn to draw book
Copied from a learn to draw book.
Copied from a learn to draw book.
I did art at school but I did not learn much as the class was often in a state of disruption.
I would love to take part in an drawing class to learn the techniques, and not just do as I did and copy other peoples shading from a book.

Veronica's Dream
This picture was painted from a friend's dream, that she told me.
I think you could say I overdid it a bit with all the detail!
Martha, Nigeria
Martha's story was featured in Open Doors Magazine, she is a grandmother who looks after her grandchildren, they have little food but she was given some by a Christian charity to help her but she shared much of the food with her non-Christian neighbours. Her generosity inspired me to paint her. I am sorry that this photograph is blurred, it is the best focus I get.

The Cross
A commission for a friend Rev Chris
Picture Commentary:
The picture of Jesus’s shadow stretching across the earth with his form on the cross has a shadow to the body of Christ as I felt whilst painting it; it to be right. Afterwards when I thought about the shadow within a shadow it seemed to say to me that Jesus left more than a shadow of himself on the earth after the cross. He left his presence behind, so the depth of the shadow around his head tries to show that he is still here.
Jesus’s head is laying below that of his children as he laid down his life for them; the ultimate sacrifice.
Jesus’s children are represented by the sheep who walk safely across his shadow and onwards passing through fertile land, and desert land. The footprints follow a narrow path to the cross: this represents our Christian walk.
There are times of spiritual richness; hence the grass, and times when we feel spiritually dry; the desert. When I painted the footprints they totalled 24, you can not see them all now as the sheep cover them. It was not my intention to paint 24 footprints, but it fits in with the number of the disciple’s feet. The footprints at the base of the cross are painted darker indicating that the journey is at an end and that this is the place to stop and think about God.
The rocks near to the path show that it is not always an easy choice to walk to the cross. At the base of the cross I have painted an oasis, a place of refreshment; elephants drink their fill. The elephants represent memory; we should not forget what Christ has done for us.
The sea with two fishing boats, although one is in the distance so it does not have a net, represents Jesus’s command to fish for souls throughout the world.
The poppies flowing from the cross representing Jesus’s blood that flowed for us like a river.
The three trees near the oasis represent the trinity.
Satan is depicted as a small snake; he is in shadow since he can not walk in the light of God’s new covenant with his children on earth.

Mary Magdaline
This little canvas painting of Mary was done as a demonstration for a Women Aglow craft evening that we held here in Lowestoft. I smile, it does not show on the photograph but the painting is riddled with fine cracks on the surface as I forgot about it and left it to dry in my conservatory overnight. It was a cold night! My aunt Ann loved it so I gave it to her.
Identical Twins
Zachary and Elijah are twins and this drawing was taken from a photograph of them. I would say I am not that pleased with it as I think it makes them look too old. However perhaps with Loree's help I can learn to do better!
People Matter
People Matter, they are standing on the pages of a bible. This was a present to my friends Tim and Yvonne to thank them for all the prayers they said for me during the time of my MS diagnosis.
Koi
This was the third attempt. A present for my Japanese friend Noelle. I actually contacted an American Japanese speaking church to find out what Koi represents in Japanese culture as I did not wish to offend my Japanese Christian friend. Koi represents good forture or blessings.
